Chorus History

In 1974, Ed Covey, an avid babershop fan, decided to form a women's choral group in the Connecicut River Valley area.  The following year, under the direction of Rene` Frechette, the group took the name "The Good Time Music Company."  By 1977, it had grown in number and prestige to receive an official charter from SWEET ADELINES INTERNATIONAL to become VALLEY SHORE ACAPPELLA.

Over the years the chorus has established its preeminence throughtout New England and eastern Canada competing in regional competitions and came in 1st in the small chorus division in 1999.

We have had several directors over the years, some for many years. Our current director is Angie Clark, a young, vivacious, talented music educator with skills that will take our musical knowledge and performance quality to a new level.

The members of our chorus enjoy a truly exceptional camaraderie which is always reflected in our sprited performances.  We perform for many community organizations and corporate events, senior centers and in charitable fund raising affairs. We've also performed at many prestigious venues including the Wadsworth Atheneum and the Connecticut Governor's mansion. We enjoy singing just about anywhere and everywhere!
